Creative = Being Inspired Literally

As creatives, our main challenge is to stay inspired in order to effectively solve problems. Every piece of work that we do requires creative thought, in other words, inspiration. Surely we’ve all gone through the creative-block moments, making us feel very mundane and unproductive as we scroll through Pinterest or Behance to find something or anything that will light the bulb in our heads and pump the creative juices in our brains. Sometimes you might need to change your source of inspiration and you might not know it. So, here are six tips on how you can draw inspiration and become more creative.

Engage.

Be it friends from other working fields or your own customers, engage with them and find out what they are currently obsessing over or what’s new with their lives. Different people have different stories attached to them and it can be a source of inspiration for you.

Learn from the Master.

Your superiors have been in the industry longer and have encountered more creative-blocks compared to you. Talk to them, have coffee and a biscuit but tap into their minds and see things from their perspective. This might change the ground that you are currently on as you look at things from another point of view.

Burn Calories.

Go for a run, ride your bike, roller skate because working out pumps up your creative brain juices. When you work out, especially outdoors, you get a change of scenery. The greens, the chirping birds, the Vitamin D that you soak up from the Sun and the different people outside doing different things. These activities can be a source for your inspiration.

Netflix and Stay Inspired.

What other way to get inspired than watching movies? The different plots, characters and genres, all in a common medium to capture our attention and provide inspiration. Look at the movie posters, have a thought about it and maybe it could get your creative juices bubbling.

Social Media.

Keeping Up with The Trends. You have to know everything that’s going on in the social media platforms be it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and even Snapchat. What’s the new “In” thing? Now that all the social media platforms has the same “Story” feature on it, what else is new? Are there any new dance challenges you have yet to see? It’s pretty easy to get inspired when you’re on the social media platforms.

Socialise.

Don’t stick your head too long behind the computer. It’s time for you to get up and get out. Explore the world, try out new things and new food. These experiences will be able to spark your inspiration, get your creative motor running and just start spewing out great ideas.

So when you’ve got a creative block in the midst of finding new ideas, why not try these tips out? It might be time to change the way you look for inspiration or the way you see things. Who knows, you might even get a non-stop flow of inspired ideas when you look at things in a different perspective! So time to get the brain juices flowing and pumping!
